It is clear to Paul that the resurrection of Messiah Yeshua is an integral part of the good news. But note the reason why Paul, the other apostles and disciples, and all other believers had confidence that what they were proclaiming was of God – because it was “according to the Scriptures” – the Tanach…
Israel is currently passing through a long and difficult time, with ongoing acts of terror, and seemingly no way forward. Few believe that renewed peace negotiations will change anything. Israel is enduring one of her darkest hours since the founding of the state in 1948. Increasing the pressure upon her, much of the western press is strongly biased against Israel, undoubtely affecting public opinion against the Jewish nation.
However, God is at work in this region and on behalf of Israel. Our response to current events must not be shaped by CNN, or the BBC or other news media, but rather by the eternal word of God concerning Israel’s future.
Israel is in need of much prayer. At such a time as this, the Church cannot afford to be sleeping but must understand the purposes of the Lord and pray into these matters.
As believers in God’s promises, we must also know how to pray at this crucial juncture of history. Are there firm Biblical principles we can apply in our intercession at this time for Israel?
