As we approach nearly the halfway mark of 2017, we are reminded of God's great love and faithfulness toward us at the Jerusalem Prayer Tower. We had a total of 31 groups different come join and with us this month from many different nations. It is so encouraging to see the nations gather and worship together in Jerusalem as one new man in Messiah.
We recently celebrated the festival of Shavuot, a festival which marks the completion of a seven-week counting period between Passover and Shavuot and which also commemorates the giving of the Law on Mount Sinai.
As believers in Yeshua we also celebrated the giving of the Holy Spirit at pentecost. The prophet Zechariah spoke of how the Messiah would pour out a spirit of grace and supplication on the inhabitants of Jerusalem. The prophet Joel also foretold the "outpouring of the Holy Spirt upon all flesh". Yeshua during his earthly ministry also confirmed this promise to his disciples by telling them to wait in Jerusalem for the gift that His Father would send to them.
And you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth (Act 1:4-8)
As believers in Yeshua, the free gift of the Holy Spirit is what enables us by grace to love God with all our hearts, minds and strength and to love our neighbour as ourselves. Let us continue to be his witnesses in Jerusalem and in all of the earth, knit together in love and in the unity of the Spirit.
